Sussex County is fortunate to have one of the largest county specific museums in the state of New Jersey housing thousands of local artifacts.
Walpack Historical Society and the Space family, proprietors of Space Farm Zoo and Museum, invite you to spend the day exploring and reminiscing about Sussex County’s history while on a walking tour of their 100 acres of museums and Zoo with 500+ animals.
The museums at Space Farms are time capsules housing artifacts specific to the way of life as it was lived in Sussex County from the time of the county’s first settlers over 300 ago and beyond starting with the time of the first humans known to Sussex County. We will visit the Indian artifacts display representing the time and lives of the local indigenous people of the area, the Lenape Indians of Sussex County. The many museum buildings are filled with local history such as old cars, bicycles, trucks, tractors, horse buggies, a doll collection, one of the largest privately owned firearms collections in the country, and so much more.
This event is sponsored by the Walpack Historical Society and will take place on November 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Space Farm Zoo and Museum in Beemerville, New Jersey. Our patrons will be entitled to a reduced entrance fee. The restaurant will be open or you can bring your own food. Please visit Space Farms for more information about this special place.
