The Walpack Historical Society’s Spring Hike will be taking place on Sunday, April 26th, 2026. Hikers are to meet at the Flatbrook-Roy Wildlife Management Area (off NPS 615 between Peters Valley and Walpack Center) at 10:30 am. Please park in the fishermen’s parking lot by the bridge. Do not park along NPS 615. The hike will start promptly at 11 am and will cover approximately 3 miles of mostly flat
The Walpack Historical Society expressed gratitude to attendees of Cara’s presentation at The Shawnee Inn, highlighting local history and property tales, including Native American heritage. Following the tour, WHS President Don Stieh and Jeff Stoveken donated to the Shawnee History Museum. The Society looks forward to future events.

The Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort was built in 1911 and was originally known as The Buckwood Inn. The property was purchased by Charles Kirkwood in 1977 and is still owned by the Kirkwood Family.
