Walpack Historical Society Hosts Juneteenth Memorial Ceremony and Guided Hike – June 19 at 11am

The Walpack Historical Society will honor the history of Walpack Township’s African American residents with the unveiling of a memorial marker during the observance of Juneteenth on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 11 am – 2:00 pm. The hike to the Black/Enslaved Persons Cemetery will depart from the Van Campen Inn at 12 pm. Hikers will take part in the unveiling of the memorial marker honoring the black and enslaved

The Walpack Historical Society’s Spring Hike will be taking place on Sunday, April 26th, 2026. Hikers are to meet at the Flatbrook-Roy Wildlife Management Area (off NPS 615 between Peters Valley and Walpack Center) at 10:30 am. Please park in the fishermen’s parking lot by the bridge. Do not park along NPS 615. The hike will start promptly at 11 am and will cover approximately 3 miles of mostly flat

Participants are asked to meet at the Blue Mountain Lakes parking lot, which is located on the Flatbrookville-Stillwater Road, at 10:30 am.
