The Walpack Historical Society invites you to learn about life as a woman who followed Washington’s Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. This event will take place on Sunday, June 28th, 2026 from 1 pm – 3 pm at the Walpack Center Church. Wives, daughters, mothers, and single women followed their men on long marches and through cold and hungry conditions. Many had children with them. They worked as laundresses, cooks, and nurses.
Spend an hour with Mrs. Bennett and hear about life in camp, on the march, and during skirmishes and battles.
WHS invites guests to arrive early to socialize and meet new people. Our bookstore will be open at the Walpack Church. Please remember that the bridge in Walpack Center is still closed. Guests must access Main Street using NPS 615.
Performed in period costume by Patricia Wells.
